I wanted to create a face-to-face community for people pursuing careers as actuaries, students looking for information, and established professionals looking to offer guidance and advice. This can be a great way to discuss networking, form study groups for the actuary exams, and hopefully get practicing actuaries or companies to occasionally address our group. I would especially encourage non-traditional actuary enthusiasts (career changers) like myself to join up!
A group to discuss machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, knowledge representation, and artificial intelligence. Meetings will cover research papers and algorithms in the field. We'll also try to occasionally bring in a speaker to talk about their work.
